Design Engineer / Project Manager (Salt River Project Contractor)

Assigned the role to manage, develop and modify SRP’s Dark Fiber system, as well as, design and project manage backhaul solutions for clients such as T-Mobile and Verizon. Primary responsibilities included the preparation of RFI, RFQ and RFP vendor responses, along with performing the research and analysis required to implement cost estimates, drawings, and scopes-of-work, in order to clearly interpret projects to external vendors and internal stakeholders.  Additionally, tasked with maintaining schedules for multiple active projects. Recruited for the support of Qwest Engineering project close-outs.  Duties included the reviewing of jobs and the reviewing of prints for variations of material usage.  Ensured timely and accurate reporting of construction “as-builds” and tracked all supporting documentation. Responsible for ensuring that all contractors, engineers and construction departments strictly complied with the required accounting guidelines set by the business organization.  Processed data and “as-built” documentation to ensure the accurate accounting of materials for the purpose of auditing construction work prints.

 

Network Operations Technician – Network Operations (July 1998 – March 2005)

As an experienced Network Technician, was recruited as a Subject Matter Expert in 2002. Responsible for the safe installation of new Telco services and maintenance of existing communications network distribution systems which included: digital cross-connects, digital loop carriers, channel banks, programming of SONET equipment, digital switching and ancillary support systems. Managed individual daily-route for upgrades, changes to voice lines, special circuits, and maintenance of customer software. Performed field activities pertinent to installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications services which included: POTS, VDSL, DSL, T-1, DS-0, and DS-1.

 

Canyon State Electric, Phoenix, Arizona                       Aug. 1995 – July 1998

While working at Canyon State Electric, achieved the Journeyperson Electrician Certification for the State of Arizona and awarded “Apprentice of the Year” in 1996. Duties included: conduit installs, feeder installs, test, and maintenance of electrical equipment.  Skilled on the safe use of hand tools and power tools.
